I don’t know if this happens to you guys, but sometimes I imagine an accessory or shoes, and I can’t seem to find them for sale. I don’t know where these ideas come from, but…I can’t get them out of my head. So when I can’t find what I want in stores, instead of giving up I usually try to make them on my own (It’s easier with accessories than with shoes…)
So here is another post on getting crafty, this time we will create a really simple handcraft, a strap bracelet. This is a list of what you’ll need:
- Fabric glue (not just any glue will work)
- Wide plastic trim
- 1cm wide Velcro
Let’s get started!!
STEP 1
Measure the circumference of your arm, if the plastic trim is 11cms width, then measure your arm circumference 11cms above the wrist. This will be the measurement of the length of the plastic trim plus 1cm of the velcro’s width. In this case I needed it for a 20cms circumference, plus 1cm… so this means that the plastic trim will be a total length of 21cms.
STEP 2
Cut the velcro as long the width of the plastic trim (11cms), since velcro has two fabrics, one that hooks and the other that loops, glue the fabric that hooks on one of the endings of the plastic trim, following the border line. And do the same with the fabric that loops, but in the upside ending of the plastic trim. Like it’s shown in the picture.
STEP 3
Let it dry!
And there you go! You have a brand new strap bracelet!!! ☺
Have fun creating one!
